Module 12 - CNC course & training
Grinding (production grinding)
Basics and terms for grinding are at the beginning of this module. The grinding processes such as internal and external cylindrical grinding, Quickpoint process, surface grinding, centerless grinding, generating grinding, deep grinding, tooth flank grinding, non-circular grinding, belt grinding and tool grinding are presented. The structure and properties of grinding tools, abrasives, bonds, grains and cooling are explained and the development trends on the grinding tool market are elaborated. Knowledge of surface definition is conveyed and errors in grinding are shown, as well as the process of dressing, dressing tools and dressing methods. The optimal cooling by means of additively manufactured cooling nozzles and the optimal attachment of the cooling elements, as well as the optimal filtering of the coolant is also discussed here. The topic of grinding is rounded off with a description of the occupational health and safety necessary for grinding.
