First steps
Welcome to 1986, the year in which Manfred and Anna Kainz took over the tool trade section of the company Hausensteiner GmbH in Graz including the representation for Plansee TIZIT Werkzeuge. The portfolio consists of the sales of HSS tools and indexable inserts. Specialized technical consultations are also carried out.
1987
Production of special tools
Together with Michael HAUSENSTEINER and Josef PANZENBÖCK, DI Weber GmbH is founded for the production of special tools
1989
General agencies
As a result, DI Weber GmbH obtains general representation for numerous well-known tool manufacturers: HAM, STRASMANN, TOSHIBA TUNGALOY, BECKER DIAMAND, POLYTOOL and BOSS
AS 400 is used as the merchandise management system.
1992
New production site
With the purchase of a water recycling plant in Voitsberg, the course for a grinding center is set.
1996
Company founded in Hungary
Together with HAUSENSTEINER GMBH, HARTMETALLWERKZEUGFABRIK Andreas Maier GmbH, MAPAL Präzisionswerkzeuge Kress KG and Dr. med. Peter Látrányi, HTCM (Hungarian Tool Consulting & Management Ltd.) is founded.
First tool management Level 5 (cost per part - billing model for tools) is implemented in Szengotthárd in Hungary.
It is no longer the drill that is sold, but the drilling.
The qualification of the employees is carried out partly via Learnlink.
1997
Founding of the TCM brand
The DI Weber GmbH and the Hausensteiner GmbH are merged and the newly founded brand TCM GmbH (TOOL CONSULTING & MANAGEMENT) is created.
1998
On the way up
The founding of TCM International Tool Consulting & Management GmbH follows with headquarters in Graz and offices in Koblenz and Györ / Hungary, as well as TCM Polska in Polkowice.
2003
The expansion continues
Within less than a year, the Technology and Development Center, founded in 2003 as a cooperation between the municipalities of Stainz, Georgsberg and St. Stefan with TCM and Peters GmbH, becomes the new headquarters of TCM.
A KPI model (Key Performance Indicator) is developed, with 1: 1 billing of tools.
A TCM in-house training program for CNC grinders is launched.
With the TCM in-house developed software "Praxis", a knowledge database is created.
2006
A new chapter in the company’s history
With the acquisition of the entire areas of tool management, toolmaking and tool grinding for the Opel site in Bochum in July 2006, TCM opens a new chapter in the company's history. 108 employees of Opel were taken over.
2008
TCM as Solution Provider
In order to be able to offer customers the widest possible range of services, TCM expands even further in these years:
Achterberg GmbH and TCM Systems are integrated into the TCM Group.

2012
The technology-oriented tool manager
The Tool Management analyses are perfected and the business model Tool Management Level 6 (Productivity) is launched.
2014
The change in production takes place - TCM the technology partner
In the years from 2013 to 2017, TCM changes its corporate philosophy and with the new "Strategy2018" the step into the future is taken. "Digitalization, SMART PRODUCTION, INDUSTRY 4.0, E-MOBILITY," are the buzz words of politics. TCM promotes research and development with partners from industry, universities and research institutions worldwide.
Internally, TCM recognizes the digitization wave with the implementation of a new ERP system (SAP), a new intranet (Aeneis), the tool management software (WinTool), the tool dispensing software ATMS (Toolbase) and the TCM Cockpit (management evaluations).

2022
Change of leadership at TCM International: Markus Temmel succeeds Manfred Kainz as CEO
After 36 years at the helm of the company, Manfred Kainz is retiring from the management board and will chair the shareholders' meeting in the future. Markus Temmel, until now COO of the company, takes over his function as CEO.
